Tune in at 9pm on Thursday as guest conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, currently the New York Philharmonic's composer-in-residence, leads the orchestra in a Austro-Hungarian-themed evening.
Ligeti's Concert Concert Românesc starts the program, followed by Hadyn's Symphony No. 7 (which was written for the Esterházy court). Bela Bartók's chilling one act opera, Bluebeard's Castle, featuring bass Gábor Bretz in the title role and mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung as his ill-fated wife, Judith, closes the program.
